In 1981 Hereford Cathedral Choir recorded their very first Christmas LP for Abbey Records "Carols From Hereford Cathedral". Unavailable, (aside from a short Cassette reissue in the late 80's), for 35 years this album has become one of the most requested of the choirs back catalogue and in may ways a bit of a choral classic, particularly due to the inclusion of the premier recording of Edward Elgar's "A Christmas Greeting". Transferred and re-mastered from the original session tapes this reissue includes not only the full LP but other Christmas recordings from the 1972 album "In Quires and Place No. 6" and the complete 1968 EP "The Choristers of Hereford Cathedral".
Includes original sleeve notes, the story of the re-issue and a note from Roy Massey.
All Tracks transferred from the original 1/4" tapes
NOTE THIS CD IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO 500 Copies (Bonus CD that came with first 100 Orders is now sold out)
